Yoga holidays & yoga retreats are a GREAT way to see different parts of the world, away from mainstream holiday destinations, in places chosen for their beauty and tranquillity, whether it’s by the coast, in the mountains, in the countryside or elsewhere.
They attract people from all backgrounds and professions. Some people come as couples, friends come together or people come on their own. They are ideal for this, as quite a few of the hotels don’t charge a single supplement for single travellers.
All yoga holidays and yoga retreats are different but they usually include one or two daily yoga sessions and sometimes meditation sessions as well. The level and style of yoga will be different for each but will usually be flexible enough to accommodate most people, providing they are reasonably fit and healthy. However, there are more specialised trips for those with more specific needs.
Although yoga holidays and yoga retreats are based on yoga, it is important to note that the yoga is not compulsory, so if participants would rather lie in or do something else instead, that’s fine too.
Accommodation is always included in the price and upgrades are sometimes available at an extra cost. The number of meals included varies considerably from self catering to three meals daily, plus tea and cakes. The type of food also varies but if meals are provided, they are usually healthy, freshly prepared and made from locally sourced ingredients.
The great thing about yoga holidays and yoga retreats is that you can do as much or as little as you want. There will be plenty of time for a wide range of activities, such as sunbathing, snorkelling, hiking, socialising, massages, reading, day trips out or just relaxing and being.
